Evaluating last week's prediction for this week, I said "By next Monday, I forecast that the U.S. average will rise to $3.59/gal, while prices in Canada will rise to an average 122.8c/L." So, what was the outcome? Looking at our latest GasBuddy pricing data, we show the U.S. average at $3.566. In Canada, prices rose to 123.1c/L, so we'll call this a very close prediction.

To start this week, oil prices are trading slightly lower to $104.50, a small drop from last Friday's close of nearly $106/bbl. Has anyone else noticed that oil has failed to break through the $106/bbl level? Brent crude also hasn't broken through $117/bbl. If oil fails to break through this barrier, we could see a new ceiling develop or perhaps a small correction...

Is it now at the highest prices gas has ever been? Will it break the 4.00 per gallon mark?

How many times can we post the same old story?

Greed, speculators, drill baby drill, etc. etc. etc.

Gas in my part of Eastern PA has risen "only" about $.04 the last couple of weeks. But I certainly don't expect them to decline with the summer driving season coming up. Although I'm not sure who's still driving for pleasure (except the rich, of course).

nevermind $5 gas people watch what happens when gas reaches about $4.50 nationally and see the economy do a double dip like no one has ever seen and then watch Obama blame Bush again.

A weekly report is almost as meaningless as a daily report. Short lived and short term data that can be here today and gone tomorrow. What's the point...

As many have said before the prices has little to do with supply & demand only with how much those with the oil or the money to buy rights to the oil (Speculators) can squeeze out of the public. Oh yea don't forget the rest of the profiteers in the chain, from transporters to refineries etc. Everyone tries to blame it all on the other guy.

We don't need a weekly outlook because we all know prices will be going up. We do not need salt rubbed into our wounds.

so...prices are not going the way the greedy want, but sometimes actually respond to the NEEDY (most of us) ? Capitalism is not working so well for those who can never get enough so they turn to the SOCIALIST element in DC to bail them out.

I went past two of my regular stations at around 5:15 this afternoon, and both prices for regular had gone up $0.06/gal for regular from where it was at 7:15 this morning.

The price in most parts around here are staying still. There is still a large chance that the price will go up for this time of the year.

If Obama would just announce that we were going to increase drilling in the USA, the price of oil would plummet like it did in 2008 when Bush did that. The only thing is that Bush actually did increase drilling the USA while Obama illegally cut it in the Gulf of Mexico. Now Obama takes credit for the increase in domestic production that Bush is responsible for.

I just drove a half gallon away to fill my tank. The round trip costs me a gallon. I saved the cost of one gallon. I refuse to buy where they are charging the most. I have to pay a profit, I might as well pay it where they treat me like they care.
