The wife has already spent about the same or more than last year - she's oblivious to gas prices since she doesn't drive ! Just assumes I keep bringing home the bacon .....

I will probably spending a little less this year, because the price of everything is going through the roof now.

Giving gifts - being kind to others - has a higher priority than buying gasoline. It won't change my gift buying habits at all.

Fortunately, perhaps, I don't have many people to buy for. If I did I would have to cut back at least 50%. As it is I'll stretch my limited retirement income to manage a token effort. The discouraging thing is the reduction in my take home pay from a part time job that gas prices cause. It's not just the driving. Everything costs more. If I didn't drive at all, the cost of survival is in the stratosphere. Has anyone bought a $1.25 tomato lately?

I bought a 99' Chevy Suburban this last year. The truck is in awesome shape with 20" rims, but it is killing me in gas! It costs me $120.00 to fill it up so my spending budget will be cut by 25% at least this christmas.

Yes, with only decreases in salary the past 5 years and increases in the cost of living, our money doesn't go as far as it used to. So, yes, our holiday budget is being cut once again.

I'm doing a lot more online shopping because of the gas prices. I shop online when I get free shipping.

Hey if you worry about the price of gas, then you don't really have any thing to worry about. Gas could be $3 a litre and it would mean nothing to most people.
