I've been trained in Automotive Technology and there are certain things that get done more often and some others less often. Some things get done more often, because I know it helps preventative maintenance will prevent the need for AAA. Regular maintenance with normal fluids... but I use synthetic fluids which require less maintenance and create less wear and tear. Bottom line... a car that is cheaper to maintain. I am getting 30% better mileage than the EPA predicted... with 14 year old vehicle over 150,000 miles. The mileage has improved since then.

I find the dealers are always trying to sell service that is not recommended. I take my older cars (1997) to a local mechanic who does a great job and doesn't rip me off.
